| We use a historically correct reproduction
stirrup. This is an exact reproduction is powder-coated brass
designed to provide an accurate image of the cuirassier's steel stirrup
without problems with rust. These stirrup is large, easy to find,
comfortable for both horse and man, and fit both the botte and solier.
The pair illustrated to the right were ridden through a wet winter and spring, and while showing no signs of rust or corrosion these do show minor abrasion of the coating by the interior of the stirrup leather. The revealed brass tint is covered by the stirrup leather and will not be a problem for our impression. |
